When you bear in mind the early start to get in the Virtual queue, the stress of attempting to get to the ride on time and then the very lengthy queue once in the ride is it worth it? A Big NO from me don't bother. Wow i was already thinking Disney had gone beyond being acceptably expensive to being a rip off this was another blatant example of this.Īfter the long queue we finally got on The Tron ride, the start of it is very good but it's all over in about 30 secs. While queueing which took over an hour as in Guardians of the Galaxy people were walking past in The Lightning Lane i enquired why? To be informed that these people had paid $30 for the privilege per rider. By the time we had run across the park the time was now 09:45 sure we wouldn't be granted access we, to our surprise we were. Queues for transport in to the park were very big while boarding the ferry the App flashed up that our boarding was now closed. Traffic meant that we got to the parking area at 09:00. Decided to try and get to The Magic Kingdom at opening time. The day we decided to do Tron, same process ensued 06:45 wake up, made it on to boarding group 8, no estimated boarding time given. The Ride was good but could have been made a lot better. It would appear boarding groups and timings are estimates! However there was still a 40 minute queue once inside the ride. Thankfully we weren't and were allowed on the ride. With no clear indication of the whole process i was sure my children were going to be left disappointed when we were going to be told we were too late. We finally made it to the park at 10:45 after breaking a few speed limits enroute. We decided to have a relaxed morning and take our time to get to Epcot, at 09:30 while having a leisurely breakfast our estimated boarding time dropped to 10:15, chaos ensued. After just returning from Disney i am not sure what the point of these are.įirstly we planned to do The Guardians of the Galaxy at Epcot, after setting my alarm for 06:45 to join the queue I was happy to get boarding group 42 with estimated boarding time of 11:45. After multiple test flights at the Nine Ten Drones training facility in Fayetteville, NC we have averaged a max flight time of just over 21 minutes. Skydio is advertising up to 23 minutes of flight with a single S2 battery. The S2 battery design is revolutionary engineering at its finest. Really think about it, the drone is flying along with the battery “hanging” to the bottom by a magnet. Keeping in line with engineering a drone unlike any other Skydio introduced the S2 with a bottom mount battery that is magnetically secured in place. This limits the drones ability to integrate within various industries. You cannot add any external accessories or devices to the S2 because they will adversely affect the cameras used for autonomous navigation and situational awareness. I don’t know if this is technically within FAA regulation but if the FAA trusts the S2 with flight BVLOS then it may be okay with recreational “pocket piloting”. Once its flying with tracking initiated you can put the phone or tablet away. All that is needed is an Android or Apple device to get the S2 airborne. It’s worth mentioning that the drone alone is practically RTF. What makes this drone such a great fit for recreational use is the ability to capture phenomenal content when paired with a phone and absolutely zero drone flying experience. The S2 can also be packed into its rugged hard case, similar in size to the Mavic 2 and EVO II hard cases, with plenty of space for extra batteries and all accessories. For $999 you get a compact drone that can easily be packed up and carried on an airplane or stored in a backpack for a road trip. While the drone does not “fold up” it still maintains very a small footprint. The drone is sleek and weighs in at just 1.7 pounds. In total the drone has six (6) 4k navigation cameras, three mounted on the top and three mounted on the bottom totaling 45 megapixels constantly focused on visual sensing. The forward motors are mounted upside down to eliminate interference with the top mounted 4k navigation cameras. This upside down design feature is in contrast to other readily available commercial off the shelf drones which have all motors mounted on the top (excluding the newly released DJI M300). One of the first things you will notice about the S2 is that the forward motors are mounted upside down. However, I am deeply unimpressed by the drone’s inability to integrate into the commercial space for multiple reasons to include its limited camera, low flight time and borrowed remote controller. I’m amazed by the S2’s ability to navigate autonomously, avoid obstacles and track subjects unlike any other drone I ever seen or flown. For the past 10 months I’ve been operating the S2 with Nine Ten Drones in various environments with a range of clients in various industries. With a reservation for a first batch S2, I received my drone in March of 2020. Skydio began shipping their first batch of the Skydio 2 (aka “S2”) to customers in December of 2019 and throughout 2020 the S2 managed to gain more and more popularity not for what it was doing but for the things we continue to be told it will do “in the future”. There are lots of fascinating interpretations of the survival genre in this list, but The Long Dark sticks to the fundamentals and works magic with them. You’ve got to work out your diet, how far you can travel on a full stomach, exactly how much time you’ll have before it gets dark and the temperature plummets, and then there are the contingency plans for things like blizzards - you’re not popping out for a quick drink. You have to worry about your basic human needs and very little else, but that’s actually a pretty big job. Getting ready to leave the shelter feels like planning a wilderness expedition. You’ve got to find shelter, and then venture out to find supplies, all while trying to keep your calorie intake up and your body warm. Its episodic story mode, Wintermute, serves as a gentle introduction to its harsh, yet beautiful world, but it's the game's survival mode that's the true, open-ended test of your mettle, dropping you into a freezing world and then leaving you to find your own way. The Long Dark’s vast, snow-blanketed wilderness is a harsh and uncompromising place. The last I checked David Tennant is in it? The game's also home to an absolute plethora of updates and expansions, which means you shouldn't be starved of things to do. Expect lots of collecting fibers and fur to craft boots, maybe a spear to fend off enemy players or protect your allies. And if you're a fan of the traditional first-person survival sim, then you'll find plenty to like here too. If you're a dino fan, then you'll well catered for here, as you're eventually able to use them as forms of transport or the equivalent of combine harvesters. I think I'll ask tomorrow's clients if they like "redfish on the halfshell." Thanks, E Holstman The guys will be back in Pensacola very, very soon and I'm thrilled with the huge numbers of repeat clients at Redfish University. Total was probably 20-25 redfish between 18-31″ and a flounder. I had a great time smashing them as well! They took four redfish and a flounder home and all other redfish were released after some photos. We didn't bother with the speckled trout today since they were having so much fun with the redfish so we played catch-and-release for the rest of the time. It's a great day when you don't know how many redfish were caught. Some Gulps! would have picked up more flounder but they said redfish. We noticed quite a few flounder squirts as well in the very clear water but only picked up one. Most fish were great 23-27″ redfish but we did have a few overs in the 27.5-31″ range, but no complaints. Continued down the bank and stuck redfish after redfish with some doubles in the mix. Johnson Gold Spoons in gold and black and knocked out the redfish in a very short period. I've been observing lots of mullet on wind-blown banks down there in the past few months and thought we'd be able to grant the request. Travelled way east in the Excursion over to East Bay. With the water moving in quickly, a SE wind and cloudy conditions, this sounded like an excellent plan. Both stated that they'd love to bring even more "redfish on the halfshell" back to Alaska for a family cookout. Returned to the ramp and asked the fellas what else they might be interested in. 21, 2012įor the third trip with my Alaskan anglers, we departed Navy Point boatramp at 8am in search of some shallow bull redfish only to be met with stiff SE winds and some rollers over the bow of the Maverick 17 Master Angler.
